Bean Gallery Cafe at Cabanatuan City

Had a last-minute hearing at Cabanatuan City before the end of the year.. The next one will be by late January, as January is inventory month for the courts. Since provincial hearings required us pretty much to wake up at the crack of the dawn, hubby and I got so sleepy after brunch that we scoured for a coffee shop to try before going back to Manila.

And so, thanks to my sorority sister’s recommendation, we tried the Bean Gallery Cafe located at Magsaysay Sur, Cabanatuan City.

Since I was so sleepy, I opted to try the brewed coffee. 🙂

Hubby tried the espresso affogato.

The brewed coffee is good, it’s not too strong. Just enough to give me a jolt. 🙂 The espresso affogato is a bit messy to prepare, but a nice combination anyway. The price of their coffee is very reasonable.

The cafe is done in orange and black colors. It has a warm, cozy, pumpkin-ny atmosphere.

The cafe also serves all-day Pinoy breakfast meals and pasta. There are also souvenir items and mugs lined up near the entrance.

A sign at the front of the cafe also says that they serve Krispy Kreme doughnuts every Tuesday. 🙂

It’s nice to hang out at a literally cool place like this, it seems as if the weather in Cabanatuan City is always summery, even though we’ve been there during the “ber” months.

One Saturday at IL PADRINO Coffee in Pampanga

That one windy Saturday (the last day of November), my hubby and I, together with my high school friends, went to San Fernando, Pampanga to attend the 1st birthday party of Raj–our godson from another high school batch mate. 🙂

It was literally the perfect day for a road trip in Central Luzon. It’s not hot, in fact it’s windy, and you can feel the December chill approaching. We stopped by at Robinsons Starmills in San Fernando, Pampanga for a coffee break before proceeding to the party. Upon entering the mall, we saw this coffee shop, Il Padrino Coffee, near the entrance.

And so, it’s time for coffee. Il Padrino has the usual coffee flavors, Cafe Latte, Cappuccino, Mocha, Americano… Aside from coffee, they also serve hot foods like pasta and pizza, and sweets like cakes and pastries.

The ambience is good and they have free wi-fi. You would see posters depicting Italian history and establishments. The name “Il Padrino” is actually a concept from the famous novel, “The Godfather”.

We sat at a corner, cozy enough for old-time friends catching up. 🙂

Il Padrino Coffee also have branches in Metro Manila, such as in SM Fairview and Robinsons Galleria. This is the first branch that we tried. 🙂

A personal quote. :)

You would see me not just on our office writing pleadings, motions and other legal documents. You would see me bring work on coffee shops, on our room, on hotel rooms during out-of-town hearings. I don’t mind, really, as long as coffee is within reach. There’s something about coffee that spices up the mind and inspires me to write. 🙂
